I'm going to try to take a few minutes to play catch-up and hopefully find time to blog more regularly. I am a lot better about keeping up my Facebook and a lot of you are also on there so I have let this one slide.
Since I last blogged,
This little Princess turned the "Big 1!"
Her party theme was Princess with hot pink and zebra print decorations. Here is her cake that was hot pink with zebra print on top.
Seriously, I was not thinking with the black icing...
Here is a scanned-in pic. of her 1st birthday pics. from JCPenney. I went with the outfit that one the vote and I ditched the bow (mainly b/c hubby decided it was too much :) ) This looks a little dark so you can barely see her "fountain" on the top of her head but it is just too cute.
Shortly after her birthday I began the process of weaning her. She did so great! I eliminated one feeding a week and so it took about a month to do the whole process. She didn't tug at my shirt too much and she really likes her whole milk. I switched her completely to sippy cups after her birthday and she hasn't even missed the bottle. She wasn't really attached to them anyway considering that they have been packed in a box sitting in her room for the last month and she hasn't even touched them.
I would really recommend doing the cutting back gradually because I didn't leak at all or have any pain. It probably also helped that my body had time to gradually slow down since I nursed her for TWELVE WHOLE MONTHS WITH NO FORMULA!!! Excuse my caps, but I'm not sure if I have ever been more proud of myself for sticking with something and if you have ever breastfed you know what an accomplishment it is.
I am so happy that she is weaned now. It does give me more freedom and I don't have to worry about dragging my pump with me if I want to go somewhere. I wanted to sing, "Weaned, Weaned, Weaned!" to the tune of Bill Green at Falls Creek singing, "Saved! Saved! Saved!"
I am going to go get ready for a pool party so I will continue this catch-up at a later time!

Yay for easy weaning. It's sounds a lot like my experience. I have to say I too was proud of myself for making it for thirteen months of breastfeeding! Ruthie Jane was so easy to wean as well! The b-day pics look super cute! I am so glad you updated! I've been wondering where you've been. Our hubbies had a great time at SS together.
I wondered if you'd fallen off the earth - Glad you're back and there's no more breastfeeding - It's liberating and SO sad at the same time!!!
It was good to hear an update from you and see pictures of the adorable Gracie. Congrats on the weaning and the no bottle. I highly recommend the sippy cup after 1 yr. It gets harder and harder to take the bottle away after one year.
good to have you back! I completely understand about nursing for a year and then taking it slow to wean...it was a process but I was glad I didn't rush it either! Gracie is so cute...I love the little "Pebbles" hairdo! :)
Cute pics girl. Thanks for the lovely ice cream and chit-chat at lunch. I enjoyed catching up..
have a good evening..
haha. Yes bought them yesterday. dinosaurs and I said "Dinosaurs get sad when you pee pee on them so he was like okay go potty. So he sat on the potty for about 15 mins about 4 times that night, and he just held it, and managed to pee on 2 dinosaurs. Each time he said "Mommy dinosaur is sad.. bad bad bad" That little booger knows what he needs to do, he is just holding out.
omg, i so remember him singing that song at camp. that comparison made me laugh out loud.
