Longing

(Warning: pity party post to follow)

I long for the days…
When my husband is home more than one night out of the week.
When we have a little left over at the end of the month to save for our future and start Gracie’s college fund.
When we can go to church together as a family on Sunday mornings and me not have to get everybody ready by myself.
When I can sit through a whole church service with my husband by my side.
When people at church would stop taking my daughter’s socks off and telling me I should be feeding her cookies and biscuits and gravy and other junk besides the homemade nutritious baby food I make her.
When I can get a dishwasher and central air in my house.
When I have the money and time to organize our office at home.
When I have the money and time to scrapbook.
When I can learn to truly just be grateful and content.

I hear ya, sister. Being a mom is full of times where you feel unappreciated and at the same time you feel a ton of guilt for feeling that way...I've been there many times. Its also full of times where you have to politely ignore those who mean well. You know what you feel is best for your child. The only judge of your parenting skills is your own child. If she's happy and healthy, you know you're doing a good job. I think you are. :)

I had a friend who would get so upset because every Sunday at church someone in the nursery would RE-DO her little girl's hair! I mean, they would totally change the style from what she had done at home. I hope along with you that your list of wants will soon become a list of things that you can say thank you for because they have come to pass.

They take her socks off!?!?! Why?!?!? So bizarre.
