Snow Days

So, snow days aren't what they used to be. When I was a kid I would remember staying up late watching TV just praying for our school name to be flashed across the bottom so that I could sleep in the next morning. When I was working we did not get very many snow days but there were a few lucky days here and there. They would tell us to try to make it in if we could but if it we didn't have to use our leave time then I would pretend that it was just too bad for me to make the 6 block trek to work. Pathetic, I know.

When you are a stay at home mom snow days aren't really that much different than any other day, except you can't get out of the house as much. Today was the first time that I have been out of the house since Sunday night. The three of us went to Wal-Mart together. We could have made it another day or so until we ran out of diapers but it was so nice to get out of the house. We also made a quick stop at Movie Gallery to cash in on our free rental. That place is great-they call us about once a month and tell us we have a free rental on our account. I guess they figure people will come in and get a few more rentals to go along with their free one-but no, not us-we're cheap, just the free one for us.

We had to let Gracie experience her first snow:

She kind of liked it until she started crawling off the blanket and realized how cold it was. Yes, she is now crawling as of about a week and a half ago. I have been a slacker blogger because my time has been taken up by trying to keep her out of everything! We even re-arranged the living room today in hopes of keeping her out of the cords in the living room. I hope that everyone else is enjoying the weather and avoiding the inevitable cabin fever!
P.S. I am wearing a black hat-my hair really does not look like a brown football helmet-props to whomever knows what movie that is from!

I don't have a clue about what movie that line is from. Wow, life does change when they start crawling and cruising around. You will be busy all the time.
