Mom to Mom

I have recently joined a new group called Mom to Mom. It is a Bible study/fellowship group for moms who are mostly stay at home moms and mostly have young children. You can read more about this ministry on their website: http://www.momtomom.org/. They have programs all over the U.S. so you should see if there is a church in your area with one. If not, think about starting one at your church. It has been such a blessing to me. It has been so good to get out and meet new people and fellowship with other moms that I might not get to otherwise meet. We are from all different churches and several different towns. Anyways, I thought I might share a few things I have been learning so far.

The first week we talked about legacy living. It was about how the way that we parent today affects our kids future and we should be thinking now about what kind of legacy we want to be leaving for our kids even now. This may sound like a no-brainer but when you have a baby there are some days that you are just trying not to get pooped on and bedtime seems like forever away when they are refusing to take a nap! I have started to jot down a few of my thoughts and hope to be forming my "Mom Mission Statement" soon. I will post more on here when I have some more coherent thoughts to put together. Although, that may be an oxymoron for me these days. Well, I don't think many people will read this, but if you do I hope you will start thinking about what kind of legacy you want to leave. Even if you don't have kids yet, it's never too early to start thinking about what kind of mom you want to become.
